Twenty-six years of age, Ayo Verna is the pilot of Senator Thraurrallgisc's diplomatic starship, the Red Planet, working alongside his co-pilot, a young Wookiee named Yarua.
At the age of sixteen, Ayo left his home planet of Sorensia to join the Merchant Fleet as a General Hand. He rose quickly through the ranks and by the age of twenty, he was a fully-qualified pilot. He had hopes one day to command one of the heavy freighters.
Unfortunately, the Merchant Fleet was privatised by the Senate and the subsidiary for which Ayo worked was taked over by the Trade Federation. Replaced by droids, Ayo lost his job.
After a period of unemployment, Ayo was recruited by Sorensia's Senator Thraurrallgisc, and he and Yarua fly, care for and maintain the Red Planet as if it were a beloved child.
Ayo is a quiet, sensitive man who shares Thraurrallgisc's horror at the treatment of ordinary Sorensians by MHG, and the contempt held towards his homeworld by the affluent and arrogant Commonwealth senators.
